Records will be maintained at State Records Center for a total of 7 years and destroyed by State approved method. Records must be retained 7 years because of federal audit guidelines. These record were inherited from another area, they just received them a couple of month ago, and they don't feel they need them, but want to store them in case someone needs them later. So there is no reference frequency to add records are to be destroyed by state approved methods after 7 years.
