Record Series Abstract
The record series contains data collected from Tennessee employers on work related illnesses, non-fatal injuries and fatal injuries collected annually through the Survey of Occupational Injuries and Illnesses (SOII) and the Census of Fatal Occupational Injuries (CFOI). The SOII and CFOI are administered annually by the U.S. Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) in conjunction with the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development (TDLWD). Employers may submit SOII and CFOI survey information directly to the BLS in electronic format or they may submit the survey information to the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development (TDLWD) in paper format. Tennessee has record retention and record destruction responsibilities only for the SOII and CFOI survey information that is submitted to TDLWD in paper format.
