Remediation provides owners, prospective purchasers and other interested parties a means to voluntarily investigate, clean up or monitor sites that are not regulated or addressed by The Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA). All records of the Division of Remediation fall under the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA) or TN Div. of Remediation. Remediation also addresses inactive hazardous substances sites which are not addressed under the Voluntary program. RECORDS INCLUDE: Studies, Findings, General Correspondence, legal notices, inspection reports, complaints, orders, technical reports, deeds, lab results, cost feasibility and recovery.

The records will be cut off when no further action or activity is required, as determined by the Division of Remediation, that determines oversight and maintenance, or enforcement has been met. Paper records are maintained in agency until they are converted to electronic. Paper records are destroyed after verification of electronic record. Prior original microfilm has been converted to electronic format and will be maintained permanently in electronic format. Electronic records will be maintained permanently, in agency, or on approved storage platform.

Backup Procedures
Data is backed up nightly as well as a daily snapshot. Backups are onsite for 30 days and anything older is sent to Iron Mountain.
Disaster Recovery
FileNet data is stored until deleted by user or we delete the stored data per request. All backups are kept for 7 years. Data is replicated between the two datacenters in the event that a failover is needed

RDA 2300 is a request to revise an RDA. The retention period will remain permanent. The format is changing to paper/electronic. The permanent electronic files will reside in the State\\\'s FileNet system, according to the electronic records policy. The Abstract, Disposition, and Worksheet have been updated.Recommend approval of request to revise RDA 2300.
